2022-07-07 Citizens Climate Protection Committee MinCity of Edmonds - Mayors Climate Protection Committee ("CPC") Meeting Minutes July 7, 2022 Mission of the CPC is to (7) Encourage citizens to be a part of the solution, (2) Encourage City staff and citizens to conserve current resources, (3) Work with the City Council to imple- ment ideas, and (4) Effectively address the future impacts of climate change In Attendance via zoom / phone: • Committee Members: Bryn Chighizola, Steven Cristol, Cynthia Pruitt, David Schaefer, Pam Tauer, Angela Winzen • Council Rep: Susan Paine • Staff: Kernen Lien, Sarah Brinkley • Guests: 1. Call to Order, Review of Agenda, & Introductions: 2. Check -in: a. June meeting minutes accepted with one change, #5a deleted b. New members welcomed: Steven Cristol, Pam Tauer, Angela Winzen c. New members introduced: Steven Cristol, Angela Winzen d. Group preference is to meet in -person. Explore hybrid option with location @ Brackett Room or Waterfront Center. Also time change to 11 am — 12:30 pm 3. City Report: Kernen a. CAP draft update • Drafts under review and revision • Shared draft brochure and action items • Draft CAP due 7/15 • Workshop scheduled for 7/28 at the Waterfront Center, Rooms 1 & 2 4. City Council Report a. Tree Code update b. Complete Streets review coming with inclusion of trees in right-of-way c. Budget schedule coming up, open to input from CPC for budget d. PCC is recycling plastic 5. Edmonds Climate Champions a. Subcommittee met on 6/30 b. Meeting every two weeks; next meeting is 7/14 @ 4 — 5 pm.
