Meeting called to order: 8:03
Board Members/Administration in Attendance: Kimberly Koenig, Jen Lawson, Matt
McCulloch, Roger Boehlke, Olivia Brown -Latham, Beth Sanger, Ricky Bobadilla, Devyn Cox,
Cheryl Farrish and Carrie Hulbert.
City of Edmonds Representative in Attendance: Todd Tatum, Megan Luttrell
Guests: Erica Sugg (Edmonds Chamber), Liz Morgan (FIELD), Whitney Popa (Workhorse HQ),
Holly Buchanan (Christian Science Reading,) Rachel Dobbins (Art Walk Edmonds,) Kathy
Solum (Edmonds Vision.)
Public Comment: Erica from the Chamber spoke. Halloween trick or treat is on. Streets will
close at 3. Families will be out from 4-8. Maggie will be filling in for Alicia, who is out for
maternity leave. Please let the Chamber know if you are not participating. Members from
outside of the bowl would like to participate. There will be Halloween music.
Liz added: On Nov 1, The Multicultural Association of Edmonds is hosting Dia de los Muertos at
The Fire and the Feast. Dinner, drinks and entertain will be provided; Shubert and host chefs
will be serving Mexican food. An afrenda is available to the entire community in the front of
Morgan and Moss. It will be up on Halloween and will be available for a week. The community
is welcome to bring pictures of loved ones who have passed — this is a celebration of their lives.
On November 5, Edmonds is hosting its first PorchFest. During the neighborhood stroll,
residents can relax and enjoy music. The Red Barn on 51" Avenue is the main stage. Those
acts will be amplified. It's from 2-5. It's a mixture of residents and merchants hosting the
musicians. Musicians of all skill level are welcome and encouraged to sign up. If your business
would like to participate, please reach out to Liz. This is part of the city's goal to reimagine the
way our streets are used to bring our community together
City Report: Todd Tatum presented. There is an upcoming Finance Committee meeting and
he will not be recommending chargebacks to Ed! for the city's accounting time. Holiday Market
is getting ready to kick off in November and December. The holiday trolley will be happening as
well. The Creative District advisory board will be starting back up. The city continues to look at
the 4t" Ave cultural corridor designs. ECA will be joining as a city partner. Plans for the cultural
corridor include: promoting pedestrian use, musicians, carts, public performances. One way
traffic with parking on both sides is under consideration. A walkable street is the goal with
events along the street which can be easily closed.
Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes: Cheryl moved to approve Sept 8 minutes. Ricky
Bobadilla seconded. All voted in favor.
President's Report: There is an upcoming presentation to City Council on Tuesday the 25th.
Will review the 2022 work product. Please pass along the value that you feel Ed brings to City
Council members. We are only as strong as the participation as you bring.
Treasurer's Report: Matt presented. Through the end of September, Ed! is about $300 short of
the end of year revenue. Still well ahead of projections. And expenses have been right on track.
Carrie said the city sent out a notices to the folks that were delinquent on assessments.
New Businesses Added to BID: Matt presented. 6 new businesses were added. Keith
Sonnanburg, PhD, Berkshire Hathaway, Alluvial Counseling, Midnight Cookie Company,
Capstone Commercial Real Estate Advisors.
Committee Updates
• Admin: Kimberly presented. Upcoming presentation to City Council. Will share the
budget for 2023. Projected revenue of $101 k for 2023. $89k is our budgeted
expenditures. Will end with an end -of -year fund balance of 15%. Olivia moved to
approve the budget. Jenn seconded. No discussion. All in favor of approving the
budget.
• Marketing: Carrie presented. Edmonds Holidays is coming up and Emily is secured as
the elf. The trolley is being funded by the city. Festive Drink bingo has 19 restaurants
signed up. The ornament stroll and window clings are both getting sign ups. A few
selfie stations will also go up. $1200 is needed for a website update. Jenn moved and
Beth seconded. All approved. Motion passed.
• Communication and Outreach: Matt presented. The committee is a little behind in
visiting new businesses and needs to get caught up.
• Appearance & Environment: Cheryl spoke. Umbrellas are in the Rogue basement. Not
sure if the stands are at the Mariner Plaza and the Tindel Services building. Umbrellas
will be distributed tomorrow. Members are welcome to fill thier own stands. Please
coordinate with Kimberly. Still working with the church at 6`" and Maple to get after hours
parking. They would like a hold harmless clause from the city. Would like to update the
website with the paid and free lots.
Olivia Brown expressed her gratitude to Kimberly and Jen for a new space
recommendation. Once finalized, she will share her new location.
