I. ROLL CALL & ABSENCES
Casey moved to call the meeting to order at 6:02 PM.
Sam read the land acknowledgment statement.
II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Casey moved to approve the minutes. Seconded by Mara. The motion passed unanimously.

III. PUBLIC COMMENT
No members of the public present.
IV. ICEBREAKERS
Each commissioner stated their name, pronouns, school, and favorite hobby.
The commission then moved outside to play "I'd Like to Meet my Neighbors Who..."
V. ORDINANCE, RULES & REGULATIONS, LEADERSHIP ROLES, ROBERTS RULES
Casey recapped responsibilities and roles of each Youth Commissioner, as well as the
ordinance and calendar. She highlighted the Public Records Act.
Casey went over Robert's Rules of Order and different roles on the commission. Roles
will be chosen next week.
VI. SET MEETING NORMS
The commission created a new list of norms to be voted on next week.
VII. INTRODUCE COMMITTEE SYSTEM & BRAINSTORM COMMITTEE GROUPS
Julie described the four previous committees and the projects they completed, as well as
some of the disadvantages and setbacks of last year's committees. Casey had the
commissioners write topics of interest on the white board to brainstorm goals and topics
of interest.
The commission decided to create goals for all committee members to work on instead
of having committees:
Create a youth poll
Partner with city/other groups for Earth Day
Report to council
Hold one youth forum - possibly in February?
Create one video per quarter for the Youth Commission
VIII. CREATE IG POSTS
Lucy suggested creating a post on voter registration for youth 16 and over.
IX. BRAINSTORM PROJECTS
The commission brainstormed various ways to get voter registration info and how-tos
out. Mara has an International Pronouns Day post ready. Lucy committed to having a
Canva post on voter registration finished by the next meeting. Instagram posts for
commissioners are in progress.
X. FINAL COMMENTS
Various members expressed excitement for the coming year. Casey reiterated that the
new commissioners should download GroupMe.

Casey adjourned the meeting at 7:31 PM.
