Meeting called to order: 8:02
Public Comment: Karin Butler spoke. She is from the Multicultural Association of Edmonds
which was formed last year. The group aims to bring cultural events and awareness to the city.
Lunar New Year will be celebrated Jan 21, 2023. Winter market will be open on this date as
well. A lion dance and the massive monkeys break dance group will perform. She wants to
partner with downtown merchants. Hopes to hang lanterns in the city or with local businesses.
Last year, the organization hung art from local elementary schools throughout the city. Posters
and merch have been designed. Beth suggested reaching out to Rachel Dobbins to coordinate
art and local businesses. The lion dance is said to bring good fortune to the city.
Randall Hodges asked if the trolley was running in front of his business. He did not see it and
was wondering if it was. It was confirmed to be running its regular route.
Erica from the Chamber shared that the tree lighting happened. Estimated 3000 were in
attendance. Always looking for ways to partner with local businesses. New maps of downtown
coming. Prints will be available early in 2023. Chamber directory is being printed and the
deadline to participate is next Wednesday. Feel free to join and update listing.
Connect Edmonds met for the second time at Leftcraft last Tuesday evening with Todd Tatum.
Moto Pizza aiming to open mid -January.
Board Members/Administration in Attendance: Kimberly Koenig, Jen Lawson, Matt
McCulloch, Olivia Brown -Latham, Robert Boehlke, Beth Sanger, Ricky Bobadilla, Cheryl Farrish
and Carrie Hulbert.
City of Edmonds Representative in Attendance: Megan Luttrell, Todd Tatum (Community
Services and Economic Development Director)

Chamber of Commerce), David Preston (Port of Edmonds), Jason Arnhill (Peoples Bank),

City Report: Todd Tatum presented. The mayor is working on the budget. Businesses will be
able to apply for fagade improvements. Community Cultural Plan and Economic Plan both have
budgets that Todd hopes to pass. He looks forward to the city partnering with the Multicultural
Association to put on the Lunar New Year celebration. ARPA funds under discussion. He is
drafting a plan of action for events in 2023. He is working on a climate action plan to mitigate
climate change and will engage businesses.
Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes: Jen moved and Matt seconded. All approved and
there was no discussion.
President's Report: Overheard someone say that Edmonds is such a magical downtown. And
it makes her proud. Thank you!
Treasurer's Report: Have not gotten updated information for this month. Continues to be on
track for the year.
New Businesses Added to BID: North Sound Myofunctional Therapy, the Whole Damn Pie
Committee Updates
• Admin: No meeting this month. Administrative contractor fee needs to be approved for
$33,200. Beth moved and Olivia seconded for program manager budget. Motion passed
by all with no discussion.
• Marketing: Carrie presented. Holiday is in full swing. Drink Bingo is doing well and may
need to print more cards. The winners of drink bingo get $50 gift cards to Drink Bingo
location of choice. Jen moves to pass budgets for $6600 for a copy writer and $7200 for
photography. Olivia seconded. Motion passed.
• Communication and Outreach: Did not meet this month. Info graphic will be printed
and will included in the new member folders.
• Appearance & Environment: Did not meet. Updated parking graphic is on the website.
Pay lots and electric vehicle charging are included online.
New Business: Lisa Epstein Salish Insurance Group introduced herself.
