Meeting called to order: 8:03am
Public Comment: Jordan Monroe commented. She and her husband have been a part of the
community for a long time. Dreamed of being in the heart of downtown. Recently purchased a
home downtown and the carriage house in the back was converted into an airbnb.
Olivia also added that Sugarology is finally moving. Soft opening in February and Grand
Opening in March. They have waited two and half years to find a new location. They will be
located at Fourth and Bell in old Refinery Salon. Five treatment rooms and a lab for skincare
formulation. Photography studio available for hourly rental will be in the upstairs.
Erica Sugg announced that Alicia is coming back in two weeks. She will be transitioning from
part time to full time in a few months. They have started planning the fourth Connect Edmonds.
It will be at Cascadia Museum on Jan 31. Registration is via Eventbright.
Nicki Matson has purchased Teri's Toybox.
Rian Cool shared that Twelve Tomatoes has moved to Edmonds from Seattle. The Table for 12
location offers cooking classes with a family style meal. Just got occupancy last night. They
broadcast online and have 12 million followers.

City Report: ARPA funding fagade improvement grant program is coming online. It is a grant -
no need is required. Broad eligibility and city wide. The city is funding the Economic
Improvement Plan and the Community Cultural Plan and hope to launch those soon. Hopes to
improve the marketing position framework for Visit Edmonds. Wants a coherent and consistent
plan. Lunar New Year and winter market on Jan 21. The winter market will take place through
April on the last Saturday of every month.
Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes: Cheryl moved to approve the minutes from 12/8
and 12/14. Olivia seconded. All approved. No discussion. Motion passed.
President's Report: Kimberly spoke. Board terms coming up. Open door is available right
now. Three-year term coming up in April for a by -appointment term.
Treasurer's Report: Matt shared. Don't have updated numbers. November is the most recent.
2022 was a very good year for revenue. Exceeded the budget. Collection letters were quite
effective.
New Businesses Added to BID: No report from the city. KSD Design — interior design across
from Ace has recently opened. Juice and Joe may be coming soon.
Committee Updates
Admin: Kimberly spoke. Talked about the budget. Jen moved to approve admin budget
for $950 ($800 operating, $150 supplies) for admin expenses for the year. Matt
seconded. All approved. Motion passed.
Marketing: Kimberly spoke. Love list promotion is coming up. Showcase something in
your shop that you love for a Valentine's Day promo. Do we want to still do it? Chalk will
not happen again. Love list not too popular... Considering stickers and a video love list
pilot. Kimberly moved to approve the digital marketing budget for $5500 and $1000 for
the winter campaigns budget. Jen seconded. All in favor. No one opposed. Lunar New
Year celebration is Jan 21. Lanterns on the poles. Carrie also reviewed the BID's
promotions, social media coverage and web traffic from last year.
Communication and Outreach: Matt presented. Budget items to request. Matt moved
to request $330 for My Edmonds News outreach, $250 new member communications,
$600 annual member update. Ricky seconded. All in favor. No one opposed.
Appearance & Environment: No new lots. City is considering paying for use of the
Bank of America lot. Employee parking is becoming an issue. Permits from the city are
$50/year. Christian Science lot is unofficially open to parking during non -church hours.
New Business: Olivia said the Chamber is looking for sharing the responsibility for the Beat
the Brackett 5k race. They would like a partner or for a group to take it over. Ryan is chatting
with Edmonds -Richmond Beach Running Club.
