Top 3 topics: youth opportunity 58%, mental health 54% , environmental concern 47%,
Other: diversity 39%, LGBTQ+ 28%, domestic violence 27% ,14% others
- People want history class, relationship courses, parenting or financial classes, sewing,
architecture, mental health expression, cultural activities, more science classes,
philosophy class, archery class, etc...
- A lot of answers are looking for volunteering opportunities so getting lots of resources
about volunteering would be helpful for youth
VI. Forum Planning
We talked mainly about youth opportunities since most youth are interested in this topic.
Also, since February is teen dating violence awareness month we should do something to spread
awareness; talked about importance of getting consent in the relationship
Then commissioners had 20 minutes to research about their topics and brainstormed some
questions to ask
Example question for mental health: Do you feel comfortable talking about youth mental health?
Youth opportunity group found volunteer opportunity spreadsheet on EWHS college and career
readiness
