2023-02-09 Ed! Board MinutesEd! Board Meeting February 9, 2023 Meeting called to order: Public Comment: Alan Hardwick is working with the Edmonds Police Department on a 5-year strategic plan. Working to prioritize goals and objectives and to evaluate how well it's executed. Public survey is going out now over the next 6 weeks. Wants to know what's important to the community. Board Members/Administration in Attendance: Kimberly Koenig, Jen Lawson, Matt McCulloch, Olivia Brown -Latham, Robert Boehlke, Beth Sanger, Cheryl Farrish, Devyn Cox and Carrie Hulbert. City of Edmonds Representative in Attendance: n/a Guests: Liz Morgan (FIELD), Whitney Popa (Workhorse HQ), Erica Sugg (Edmonds Chamber of Commerce), David Preston (Port of Edmonds,) Rachel Dobbins (Art Walk Edmonds,) Alan Hardwick (Hardwick Investigative Services,) Whitney Popa (Workhorse,) Vivian Olsen (City Councilperson,) Kathy Solum (Edmonds Vision,) Lisa Epstein (Salish Insurance,) Jason Arnhill (Peoples Bank.) City Report: Carrie: Todd is working with an agency to work on visitedmonds.com. Edmonds is a creative destination. Vivian: The city is cultivating Edmonds as a creative destination. And there is talk of an Edmonds Historical District. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes: Jen moved. Olivia seconded. All in favor. None opposed. President's Report: Kimberly reported. Board terms will be up in April. Currently, there is a need for a board member, one-year term, open door business. Secretary and President will be coming open. And a three-year term will be open in April. Treasurer's Report: Matt stated we ended well above projections for 2022. Ended with a fund balance of $39,800, a difference of $25,000. Must keep 15% of the budget in the account per the bylaws. January is the biggest month for assessments, and we are currently a little bit ahead. New Businesses Added to BID: Jerry Strassman OD Committee Updates Admin: Discussed new board members. April meeting. Exploring Waterfront Center, Leftcraft, ECA for annual meeting. Marketing: Love lists is ongoing. Videos posted. Green Edmonds promotion with the city and the chamber is coming up. Summer promotions is also coming up. Jen said three customers have commented that they enjoy our branding. Communication and Outreach: Focusing on the Annual Meeting. Want to choose the best venue. Matt made a motion to request $1500 for the annual meeting. Robert seconded. All in favor. Motion passed. Appearance & Environment: Cheryl discussed parking. City has approved funding for the Bank of America lot to offer additional parking spaces. Continuing to work on employees to park in employee parking areas. Encourages all to email parking enforcement to issue tickets. Vivian said the budget has approved to hire a full-time position and will follow up. Lunar New Year committee wants to coordinate with Ed. A&E would like to construct a temporary mural that could be moveable. Something Instagram- able. New Business: n/a Meeting Adjourned: 8:35am
