Sam moved to call the meeting to order at 6:04 PM.
Naomi read the land acknowledgment statement.
II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Sam made a motion to approve this week's agenda; no alterations. Seconded by Charlie. The
motion passed unanimously.
III. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES OF MARCH 22, 2023
Sam moved to approve the minutes. Seconded by Joelle and Julie. The motion passed
Unanimously.

V. GETTING READY FOR EARTH DAY
All commissioners who attend the meeting are coming to Earth Day clean up
Marina: Diane, Joanna, Sophie, Mara, Charlie, Jolle
Bracket: Casey, Naomi, Lucy L, Sam, Julie
Please arrive at beach by 9:30 AM, April 22nd on Saturday
Anyone who signup can do beach clean up (there will be sign up sheet)
Talked about what we should include in youth commission pamphlet - update the picture
VI. PINERIDGE PARK CLEANUP PLANNING
May 20th, Saturday 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Youth commissioners should be there by 11:00 AM to help set up
Go walk around Pineridge park before cleanup day to see where it is
Tools will be prepared from the city
Discussed advertising towards juniors for volunteering opportunities
Press will be release in My Edmonds, Beacon about cleanup day
Bring own water bottle
Julie is going to design poster for Pineridge park cleanup day
We should promote Pineridge park cleanup to visitors during the earth day cleanup
VII. DISCUSSING OUR ROLE IN THE DIVERSITY
Sam and Charlie debriefed what we been doing in youth commission and they got their contact
information
They wanted to get city council member to join diversity commission
We should help them find more people
Keep attend meeting and we can rotate
VIII. CITY COUNCIL PRESENTATION DISCUSSION
June 6th, Tuesday 7PM (in -person meeting)
Sam will write draft & make presentation slides
Resume talking about this in next meeting
