Dear Resident:
I have reviewed your account and will allow a credit for January and March billing period
in accordance with our City policy. The policy states that the customer will be billed at the
retail rate based upon the average water consumption for the same period during the
previous year. In addition, the excess water lost from the leak will be billed to customer at
the City's wholesale rate with a 15% surcharge added for administrative cost. Only one
leak credit will be granted in any three year period.
Should you have any additional questions after you receive your new billing, please
contact Ilene Larson, Utility Billing Clerk, at 771-0241.

Attached is a copy of our water bill for the months of October 1994 through February 1995. In
January 1995, we discovered we had a water leak in the front yard. Because of the wet weather
during this time frame it was difficult to see there was a leak. My husband purchased $10 worth
of materials to fix it and after fording there were actually two leaks, he was able to repair both.
However, our bills for this time period were much higher than normal. Can the bills be adjusted
to reflect our actual usage for these two time periods?
