2010-09-09 Historic Preservation Commission MinutesCITY OF EDMONDS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION SUMMARY MINUTES September 9, 2010 CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Chair Vogel called the meeting of the Edmonds Historic Preservation Commission to order at 5:35 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Conference Room of City Hall, 121 — 51 Avenue North. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT Larry Vogel, Chair Jennifer Anttila Sue Bauer, Vice Chair John Dewhirst Andy Eccleshall Alan Macfarlane Eric Norenberg Michael Plunkett READING/APPROVAL OF MINUTES STAFF PRESENT Diane Cunningham COMMISSIONERS ABSENT Christine Deiner-Karr (excused) Steve Waite (excused) COMMISSIONER DEWHIRST MOVED THE COMMISSION APPROVE THE MINUTES OF AUGUST 12, 2010 AS AMENDED. COMMISSIONER ANTTILA SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. ANNOUNCEMENT OF AGENDA The remainder of the agenda was accepted as presented. REQUESTS FROM THE AUDIENCE There was no one in the audience who expressed a desire to address the Commission during this portion of the meeting. COMMITTEE REPORTS There was no Committee Reports. NEW BUSINESS There was no New Business. There was no unfinished business. ACTION ITEMS Commissioner Dewhirst spoke to Megan Duvall from the Washington State Archeological Department and she is willing to attend the next month meeting to discuss with the Commission any questions they have. Commissioner Dewhirst supplied a list of potential questions. HISTORIC PRESERVATION CHAIR COMMENTS The Preservationist Chair Vogel reported that work would begin soon on the next edition of THE PRESERVATIONIST, and the Commission indicated their desire to feature the Dr. Palmer House. HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSIONER COMMENTS Chair Vogel reported that he had contacted Rob Chave on the Commissions desire to add an additional Councilmcmber. Councilman Plunkett will create some language adding another person and forward to the Council. Commissioner Eccleshall will work on the black and white photos once everyone gets photos to him. Commissioner Eccleshall provided information on the Edmonds Historic Museum Committee and suggested that each Commissioner become a member. Commissioner Dewhirst reported on the successful turnout at the Saturday Summer Market and Commissioner Eccleshall requested that it be added to the Feb. 2011 agenda so the Commission reserves space for next summer. Commissioners discussed the option of producing bookmarks of the buildings on the Edmonds register.
