1. Approve/Amend Agenda: Greg moved, Colin 2nd, approved unanimously

Continued Business:
1. Reports from sub -committees
a. Reports from internal and external sub committees
i. The overview was given so that Samantha Hopper, our new commissioner, could
have information to decide which committee she would like to be on. Katy stated
that she attended a Lion's club meeting but that service organizations may not be
the best focal point for recruitment.
ii. The newly designed brochure was shared, and the group agreed that it was laid out
well and had great information for the public.
iii. We will be at the Museum Market on 10/14/23. Katy, Colin, Sam, and lyoko
committed to setting up and working the booth. We were not able to get June. New
objectives are student recruitment and Hekinan delegation visit.
iv. Teacher preview was listed as 6/10/23 which Katy Renz realized she had given the
incorrect date. She checked on it after the meeting and it is on June 6t". Katy will
make a short presentation to the teachers about the student exchange and let them
know we are also looking for new commissioners.
V. Community Fair is on 8/6/23 and Samantha, Yuri, and Colin have committed to
setting up and working the booth. The objectives are the same as the Museum
Market.
b. 2023 Adult exchange from Hekinan will take place from 10/30/23 to 11/4/23. Hekinan plans
on having a 15-member delegation attending.
c. Carolyn plans to meet with Gary Gibson with the Steel Magic Northwest in June to discuss
their request. So far, our only commitment is to provide an orientation as discussed at last
month's meeting. She will provide an update on further requests/ideas at the June meeting.
New Business:
1. A presentation to Council is tentatively scheduled 10/2023 on Edmonds delegation to
Hekinan and preview of Hekinan visit to Edmonds. Samantha has offered to help with
the power point and Colin will be the back-up if needed.
