City of Edmonds Representative in Attendance: Todd Tatum (Community Services and
Economic Development Director)

President's Report: Request for Fund Balance Ideas, budget is due to the City next month

City Report: Todd reported.
COP Plan Update -includes Economic Development Plan. Explore Edmonds was
the winner for the new marketing. Budget approved. Will be bringing in partners
to the marketing planning, looking for joint campaigns (collaboration with other
groups).
Juneteenth celebration on June 17t" 10-2pm (in advance of the actual date),
Pride plan is for June 28t" last week of the month, putting up flags/banners on
June 23' plus event at Museum on the 301".
Discussion of a Pride plan for Ed! For next year. Perhaps we rebrand the logo
for the month of June. Venus brought up groups and cities we can look to for
inspiration. Discussion of ideas -drag queen story time, Pride bingo, how do we
decide which "months' to support, we need a plan going forward if we are going
to do events/support of other months. For this month, send out a survey of what
businesses are doing this month and highlight what is happening this month.
Perhaps partner with the city and the Diversity Commission for future events.
Chamber Program:
Pride in Edmonds posters are available in the Chamber office, printed by Jenna Naand.
July 4t"-parade and Beat Brackett call for participation, Volunteers are needed for the
Parade (setup, cleanup, etc).
Taste Edmonds is coming, announcements coming soon with full lineup. Makers Market
is a new part of the event, outside the ticked event. Want to collect more specific data
about attendees and effects on the downtown business community. Taste is the funding
source for all the other events the Chamber does in Edmonds.
Porchfest and Car Show, adding a stage and beer garden to the Car Show. Brewhaha
sidewalk sale is the same weekend (Sept 9 & 10). Discussion of businesses using the
closed streets versus sidewalk for sale/performers.
David Preston -High School banners for out of town people returning for unofficial
reunions for Taste. Port has a budget/Mandate for economic development, would like to
meet with the city.

New Businesses Added to BID: Beauty and the Barber, SG Northwest
Committee Updates
• Admin: n/a
• Marketing: Carrie & Kimberly Temporary mural next to Maize & Barley, Lovin' Summer
decals are on order Moved by Kimberly Koenig, seconded by Jacon Arnhill for $1000 for
website updates, Approved unanimously.
• Communication and Outreach: Ricky presented. New member visits are ongoing.
Discussion of DEMMU role/interaction of the group.
• Appearance & Environment: Cheryl presented.
o Umbrellas -new restock should arrive soon, please sign up to distribute. Currently
stored in the basement at Rogue. Need volunteers to unwrap the new umbrellas,
as well as distribution. Asking businesses to store the stands for summer, but
should be kept outside for pedestrian use not inside private property.
o Cheryl made a Motion for $2000 for creative messaging budget for the temporary
mural. Seconded by Kimberly. Passed unanimously.
o Discussion of Wayfinding signage as possible use of Fund balance (with map
and interactive QR code). Would work with the City. Todd mentioned District
Advisory Committee discussed overlap with this project. We should partner with
them on this ASAP before the next City budget cycle. A&E Committee is the
correct place for this discussion.
