OFFICE OF THE MAYOR 1 have experience working with groups who have different expertise in order to come to a planning strategy conclusion, An example of this is as follows. While at King County Metro— I worked with the Strategy and Performance team, that included Business Intelligence and Strategic Planning — and I participated largely in the creation of the strategic plan and even moreso in the creation and implementation of the Equity Framework strategic plan. Three committees were stood up in order to create a short term strategic plan focused on Need and Speed — identify areas/projects that targeted the areas where needs were greatest and how do we increase the average speed across the network. One to include speed, one for short term projects and one for mid- range projects. I was asked to lead the committee focused on midrange projects, defined as more than one year out, but prior to the next strategic plan. This included bringing in all proposals, creating a selection criteria, creating a prioritization criteria, and identifying which projects should be moved forward. In my career of standing up Business Intelligence programs both in the public and private sector, I am often asked to absorb and interpret a large about of data and information and provide ways for other people to quickly understand and interpret the same data using visuals and reports. Because of this, I am skilled at interpreting information coming from multiple sources, understanding where bias may be involved in the system and ensure that I am not including additional bias by what information I am and am not including in the final report. In working in public service for more than 17 years, I have experience reading and interpreting government documents. I also understand the need for appropriate bureaucracy —of which planning is one of them. Without clear zoning and both understanding and communication of the rules, then we can't grow sustainably, equitably or effectively. Additional Comments: i have lived in Edmonds since 2015.1 am proud to live here and I am passionate about community service. I have worked my entire career in what I consider to be invisible infrastructure. I define this as all of the things that make our quality of lives better, that we don't want to have to think about every day. While working for two transit agencies, that meant how we move people around. In my current role, it is how we move stuff around. i got this passion from my father, who is/was a sewage engineer, meaning family vacations included touring sewage treatment plants and understanding the impact of living in a community. Please reach out if you have any questions or need any additional information. Packet Pg. 15
