Public Hearings: a. Public Hearing on potential amendments to Chapter
(Public participation is welcome) 16.43 of the Edmonds Community Development Code
primarily intended to clarify the rules governing the
configuration and uses allowed on the ground floor in
the "BDl - Downtown Retail Core" zone. The revisions
would potentially (1) allow parking, and (2) waive the 15-
foot floor height requirement, for space located behind
the first 45 feet of street -oriented commercial space. The
code revisions would also provide more flexibility for
corner lots on the periphery of the BD1 zone district and
clarify that the conversion of existing building space to
commercial use is allowed regardless of existing ceiling
heights. (FILE NO. AMD-08-11).
