a. Michael Strong has proposed to rezone the parcel addressed as 7533 228th Street SW from
Residential Multifamily (RM-2.4) to Residential Multifamily (RM-1.5). [File # PLN20130074] An
existing 8-unit apartment complex will remain and the Applicant hopes to establish one additional
dwelling unit within an existing detached structure on the site. The proposed rezone would bring the
existing nonconforming number of units on the site into zoning compliance for density and allow for
the possible creation the one additional dwelling unit.
b. Public Hearing on a proposed amendment to the City of Edmonds Development Code, allowing
recreational marijuana producers as a permitted use in the CG and CG2 zones; allowing recreational
marijuana processors as a permitted use in the CG and CG2 zones; allowing recreational marijuana
retail outlets as a permitted use in the BC, BD, BN, CG and CG2 zones; prohibiting recreational
marijuana uses in all other zones, and adopting other restrictions on the locations of these
recreational marijuana uses. (AMD20130014)
