1. Call to order
Mr. Taylor called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. Approve agenda
Mr. Taylor added that public comments will be allotted time today but will be limited to three
minutes maximum.
Agenda approved unanimously.
3. New Information
Mr. Taylor shared feedback he received from two citizens via email and expressed appreciation for
the time and thoughts of the citizens.
4. Review of draft letter
The salary commission read through and reviewed the draft letter to identify any changes. Mr.
Taylor will make various grammatical and spelling changes to the letter.
Council President stipend was discussed to be presented as a percentage instead of a dollar
amount.
The commissioners discussed the "low-income supplement" amount to address DEI concerns.
Commissioners reviewed rationale for data proposed and discussed talking points for the public
hearing.
S. Next Steps and Action Items
Mr. Taylor is going to check with Jessica about the issues with the Salary Commission email
distribution list.
Mr. Taylor is going to verify with Director Neill Hoyson if the Public Hearing on the 1911 can be held
concurrently with the City Council Meeting or if it will be a part of the City Council Meeting.
A meeting to approve minutes will be held on September 151h at noon, if needed.
A meeting for further discussion on the final draft will be held on September 215t at 6:30 p.m., if
needed.
The commissioners would like to note that job descriptions for City Council members would be very
helpful for the next salary commission in 2025.
