I. ROLL CALL & ABSENCES
Mara moved to call the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
Joelle read the land acknowledgment statement.
II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Mara made a motion to approve this week's agenda; no alterations. Seconded by Joelle. The
motion passed unanimously.
III. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
Mara moved to approve the minutes. Seconded by Sophie. The motion passed unanimously.
IV. PUBLIC COMMENT
Daine came to take a group photo with youth commissioners.
V. COMMISSION NORMS
We went over meeting norms together
Casey: show up on time, don't talk over each others, please be responsible (check groupme and
emails)
VI. FINALIZING PLAN FOR SPEED TALKING WITH SENIORS EVENT
Final plan: 3:30 pm: Edmonds Youth Commission show up at Waterfront Center and begin
4:00 pm: do introductions
4:15 pm: start with questions; Round 1 questions
4:55 pm: closing statements
Go over interview questions for senior speed talking
Vote if we should keep "what is a change in Edmonds over the years that you have found
significant or impactful?" - Deleted
Vote if we should keep "If you could come back as a different person who would you be?" -
Deleted
Reduce the number of questions to 15.
Edited: We added, "Before we begin, make sure to grab a name tag if you haven't already," and
added "Does anyone have questions before we start?" Also, we revised the wording for closing
statements.
Youth commissioners did a practice round for senior speed speaking.
