I. ROLL CALL & ABSENCES
Mara moved to call the meeting to order at 6:03 PM.
Charlie read the land acknowledgment statement.
II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA & APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
Mara made a motion to approve this week's agenda; no alterations. Seconded by Joanna. The
motion passed unanimously.
III. PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comments
IV. QUESTIONS
Youth commissioners asked each other questions
a. What's your favorite marine animal?
b. How was everyone's week?
V. COMMUNITY TRANSIT
"Provided local transit agencies funds to allow all youth 18 and under free access to transit"
They are interested in attending our meeting either in person or via Zoom to present about
community transit and get feedback from youth; get youth more involved in public transit
Vote if we are interested in it? Yes (agreed unanimously)
VI. EVERYONE PRESENTS THEIR IDEAS
Mara: Youth mental health awareness campaign; spread awareness about mental health issues
among youth
Cassidy: continue with instagram story post and shoutout youth achievements (either weekly or
monthly)
Joelle: new library opening; let more youth know about resources they provide
Lydia: activities relate to mental health; more volunteer opportunities
Charlie: nature walks to learn about local flowers, mushrooms, and etc / host karaoke night:
overcome social anxiety
Lucy: more volunteer opportunities for youth
Casey: Follow up with PAWS, volunteer opportunities but no real opportunity to partner in an
event. June 2nd event that they offered to have us volunteer at, but it doesn't work for most
youth commission members. Agreed to continue contact and try to have an event in the fall.
Joanna: performance (singing and dancing) to make people in this city happy
Maybe game night + karaoke together??
VI I. STARTING TO DRAFT THE END OF THE YEAR PRESENTATION AND INSTAGRAM POSTS
We began drafting outlines for our end -of -year presentation: Introductions, events, and plans for
next year
Charlie will share Instagram post ideas on GroupMe.
