RESOLUTION NO. 1174
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, APPROVING UPDATES TO THE
PARKS, RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE PLAN AND
COMMUNITY CULTURAL PLAN ELEMENTS OF THE
CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, FOR INCLUSION WITH
THE FINAL ADOPTION OF THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN AMENDMENTS FOR 2008.
WHEREAS, the City Council held public hearings and reviewed the content of
updates to the City's Park, Recreation and Open Space Plan and Community Cultural plan
elements of the City's Comprehensive Plan, and,
WHEREAS, with the addition of certain amendments, the City Council believes
the Plans are consistent with its vision for the City and that the adoption of the Plan at an
appropriate point in time in conjunction with the remaining Comprehensive Plan elements will
be in the best interests of the public health, safety and welfare,
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Plan amendments pursuant to RCW 36.70A.130(2)
are updated no more frequently than once per year and are to be considered "concurrently" to
ascertain the cumulative impact of proposed changes, and
WHEREAS, the City Council will formally adopt the Comprehensive Plan at
some date in the future in order to conduct such concurrent assessment of all the plan elements,
now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Updates to the Park, Recreation and Open Space Plan and Community
Cultural Plan elements of the Comprehensive Plan, attached hereto as Exhibits A and B are given
approval. The staff is directed to include these updated elements in the Comprehensive Plan for
formal adoption later in 2008 in conjunction with adoption of all of the elements of the City's
Comprehensive Plan. Minor amendments consistent with concurrent review, assessment of
cumulative impacts and integration of these plans with the City's other planning processes may
be required, but the updated plans are given preliminary approval for inclusion for formal
adoption at a later date.
Section 2. The Planning Director is hereby authorized to certify that the City
Council has given preliminary approval to the attached plans for inclusion with the City's annual
approval of its comprehensive plan
