RESOLUTION NO. 1181
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING
REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
TRANSPORTATION BENEFIT DISTRICT PURSUANT TO
THE AUTHORITY OF CHAPTER 36.73 RCW.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds is responsible under the
Constitution of the State of Washington for the improvement, maintenance and protection of its
public ways, and,
WHEREAS, the City has limited transportation funding to pay for necessary
transportation preservation and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 36.73 RCW provides for the establishment of transportation
benefit districts and the levying of additional revenue sources for transportation improvements
within the district; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to consider the use of a transportation
benefit district coexistent with, its boundaries which exercise all of the powers and authorities
available under state statute at a public hearing, prior to reaching and making a determination,
now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A public hearing is hereby set for November 18, 2008 to consider
establishment of a transportation benefit district to exercise those powers set forth in RCW

36.73.040. Said public hearing shall be held in the Council chambers at 7:00 PM or as soon
thereafter as this matter may be heard.
RESOLVED this 21 st day of October, 2008.
