Resolution 1149RESOLUTION NO. 1149 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, APPROVING A TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN (TIP), AND DIRECTING FILING OF THE ADOPTED PROGRAM WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 35.77.010 and 36.81.121, each city and county is required to annually update and adopt a Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) by July 31 of each year and file a copy of such adopted program with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT); and, WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the TIP on July 17, 2007; and, WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to adopt such a program stating its desire and intent that the staff pursue additional forms of funding in order to accelerate street overlay/ improvements and walkway, sidewalk and bike way improvements in the City if such funds can be obtained; now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. A Transportation Improvement Plan is hereby adopted pursuant to the requirements of RCW 35.77.010 and 36.81.121 to be effective on July 31, 2007 and to continue in full force and effect until amended. A copy of such Transportation Improvement Plan for the years 2008 to 2013 is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated by this reference as fully as if herein set forth. - 1 - Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby requested and directed to file a certified copy of the Transportation Improvement Plan with the Washington State Department of Transportation.
