Whereas, Richard L. Malin has served as Council President from January to December
2005 and during his tenure as President has overseen, with style and class, many long
Council meetings with very complex and contentious issues; and
Whereas, MY. Malin has served as a member of the Council since January, 1998 and gives
more than 100% to any issue he is involved in and does this with a positive and can -do
attitude; and
Whereas, Councilmem6er Malin in addition to carrying out his duties as Council President
also sat on the Community Outreach Committee, Highway 99 Task Force, Long -Range
Task Force, Snohomish County Health , District, WRIA 8, Community Transit, and the
Sound Transit Board while keeping abreast of the Finance, Public Safety, and
Community/Development Services Cohiry ittees, all while gracefully serving the citizens
of Edmonds; and
Whereas, Mr. Malin while fulfilling his term as Councii President also served his country as a
Captain in the Unite&States Navy; now retired; and into be celebrated for doing so while
diligently working towards thhe'betterfne-ht of Edmonds;

as Council President. The Council looks forward to his continued service to the citizens
of Edmonds.
