RESOLUTION NO. 1094
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, INITIATING THE VACATION
OF A PORTION OF THE PLATTED RIGHT-OF-WAY OF
164TH STREET BETWEEN 72ND AVENUE WEST AND 75TH
PLACE WEST, AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has been made aware regarding certain boundary
line discrepancies in the Meadowdale Area including discrepancies along the 164th Street right-
of-way between 72nd Avenue West and 75th Place West; and,
WHEREAS, such discrepancies are common in the area and have resulted in quiet
title actions including quiet title actions which provide differing baseline results; and,
WHEREAS, at the request of the City Council, the staff initiated working with
effected property owners along the 164th Street right-of-way; and,
WHEREAS, effected neighbors have attempted to reach a cooperative solution
that would benefit all parties including the City and the effected property owners on the north
and south sides of the right-of-way; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to negotiations with all interested parties, a potential
resolution of the discrepancies has been reached; and,
WHEREAS, as a part of such resolution, portions of the disputed right-of-way of
164th Street may be vacated, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Pursuant to ECDC Section 20.70.050(A), the City Council does
hereby initiate a vacation proceeding for the platted right-of-way of 164th Street between 72nd
Avenue West and 74th Place West as shown on the attached Exhibit A.
Section 2. A public hearing regarding the proposed vacation is hereby set for the
21St day of June, 2005, such date being not more than sixty nor less than twenty days after the
date of passage of this resolution. The hearing shall be held in the City Council Chambers of the
Council of the City of Edmonds at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard.
The City Clerk is hereby authorized to provide notice of this public hearing in accordance with
ECDC 20.70.090.
