RESOLUTION NO. 1106
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, REQUESTING THE
SNOHOMISH COUNTY AUDITOR HOLD A SPECIAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
GENERAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 8, 2005 FOR THE
PURPOSE OF PLACING ON THE BALLOT PROPOSITIONS
CONCERNING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE ESPERANCE ANNEXATION
AREA AND THE ASSUMPTION OF EXISTING CITY
INDEBTEDNESS.
WHEREAS, on July 26, 2005, the City Council of the City of Edmonds adopted
Resolution No. 1102 which directed the administration to file a notice of intent to annex the
Esperance Annexation Area with the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board and called for
an election as authorized by RCW 35A, and
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby requests the Snohomish County Auditor to
find an emergency and hold a special election in conjunction with the general election on
November 8, 2005 and to submit to the qualified electors of the Esperance Annexation Area
separate propositions authorizing the Esperance Annexation to be annexed to the City and
authorizing an assumption of indebtedness.
Section 2. The ballot title for Proposition No. 1 relating to annexation shall read
as follows:

Shall the Esperance Annexation Area be annexed to the City of
Edmonds? ,
❑ For annexation.
❑ Against annexation.
Section 3. The ballot title relating to the assumption of bonded indebtedness
shall read as follows:

ASSUMPTION OF BONDED INDEBTEDNESS
If the annexation of the Esperance Annexation Area to the City of
Edmonds is approved, shall the property be assessed and taxed at
the same rate and on the same basis as the property within the City
of Edmonds is assessed and taxed to pay for all the then
outstanding indebtedness of the City?
❑ For assumption of indebtedness.
❑ Against assumption of indebtedness.
Section 4. A certified copy of this resolution shall be transmitted to the
Snohomish County Auditor upon final approval of the pending interlocal agreement concerning
this annexation.
