Resolution 1111RESOLUTION NO. 1111 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR 2006 HUD BLOCK GRANT FUNDING AND PRIORITIZATION OF PROJECTS. WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Edmonds has historically applied for Community Development Block Grant (HUD) Funds; and, WHEREAS, The Snohomish County CDBG Consortium announces the availability of 2006 funds for non -housing capital projects through the CDBG program; and, WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Edmonds owns the Edmonds Senior Citizen Center located at 220 Railroad Avenue and leases the facility at a nominal cost to the South County Senior Center, a non-profit program for senior citizen activities and services; and, WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Edmonds has prioritized four projects for application of CDBG Grant funding, the first priority of which is the resurfacing of the parking lot, the second priority of which is refurbishment of the back patio, the third priority of which is upgrading existing lighting to current standards, and the fourth priority of which is the refurbishment of the existing bathrooms, and, WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Edmonds considers it in the public interest to support and submit application of CDBG projects for the South County Senior Center, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to make formal application to the Snohomish County Community Development Block Grant Consortium for funding assistance. Section 2. The CDBG Grants funding assistance so received shall be used for the resurfacing of the parking lot as a first priority, refurbishment of the back patio as a second priority, upgrading existing lighting to current standards as a third priority, and refurbishment of the existing bathrooms as a fourth priority, at the South County Senior Citizen Center, 220 Railroad Avenue, Edmonds, Washington. Section 3. This resolution shall form part of a formal application to the Snohomish County Community Development Block Grant Consortium. RESOLVED this 1" day of November, 2005.
