RESOLUTION NO. 1070
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, INITIATING VACATION OF A
PORTION OF THE UNBUILT RIGHT-OF-WAY OF 174TH
STREET SW, ESTABLISHING CONDITIONS, AND SETTING
A HEARING DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the public interest to initiate a
vacation proceeding for certain unopened right-of-way of 174th Street SW in the vicinity of 6915
and 6911 - 174th Street SW in order to address access issues relating to adjacent property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council initiates this vacation on the condition that the cost
of an appraisal to determine the fair market value of the property be paid for by the abutting
property owners, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. In accordance with the provisions of ECDC 20.70.050(A), the City
Council hereby initiates the vacation of certain unopened right-of-way of 174th Street SW in the
City of Edmonds, in the vicinity of 6915 and 6911 174th Street SW. Said parcel is shown on the
attached Exhibit A, incorporated by this reference as fully as if herein set forth.
Section 2. The City Council's initiation of this proceeding is conditioned on the
abutting property owners paying the costs of an appraisal done in conformance with generally
accepted appraisal practice by an MAI certified appraiser.

Section 3. The City Council hereby sets a public hearing date on the vacation
proceeding for October 19, 2004, said hearing date being not less than twenty (20) days nor more
than sixty (60) days after the passage of this resolution.
