A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, CONFIRMING AN INCREASE
OF THE PROPERTY TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY REGULAR
PROPERTY TAX AND INCREASING EMS LEVIES FOR 2005
AT A RATE OF 1% OVER .THE PREVIOUS YEAR; THIS
INCREASE OF CITY REGULAR PROPERTY TAXES OVER
THE 2004 LEVY EQUATES TO A RATE EQUAL TO 1% OR
$79,981 AND $22,328 RESPECTIVELY.
WHEREAS, Chapter 84.55 RCW requires cities in excess of 10,000 in population
to authorize by resolution the increases in property tax other than that resulting from the addition
of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state -assessed
property in terms of both dollars and percentage, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing prior to raising tax revenues
prior to the enactment of Resolution No. 1073, and
WHEREAS, the County Assessor has requested the City's Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) levy be included in the property tax resolution No. 1073, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby determines that increases in the cost of
providing City services justify a 1% increase of the 2005 levy for the City's regular property tax
and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) levies. The increase of its regular property tax levy
over 2004 equals 1% or $79,981 and the increase in the EMS levy over 2004 equals 1% or
$22,328.
Section 2. This resolution has been enacted by a vote of the majority of the City
Council. It is the City Council's intent, by enacting this resolution, to reserve to itself the ability

to levy in this, or any future budget cycle pursuant to RCW 84.55.015 and 84.55.092, the full
levy amount permitted by law.
