RESOLUTION NO. 1042
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, INITIATING REVIEW OF
VACATION OF A PORTION OF 7TH AVENUE SOUTH,
SOUTH OF FIR STREET AND SETTING A PUBLIC
HEARING.
WHEREAS, in response to a petition of property owners, the City Council
ordered vacation of the northerly 120 feet of 7th Avenue South, south of Fir Street, and,
WHEREAS, only the western one-half of the right of way was ultimately vacated
because of the failure of the property owner adjacent to the east side of the right of way to pay
compensation as required by the City Council, and
WHEREAS, a request has been made by the planning staff to again consider
vacation of the eastern one-half of the previously approved but unconsummated street vacation,
now, ;therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council hereby initiates the review and consideration of a
request to vacate the easterly half of the northerly 120 feet of 7th Avenue South, south of Fir
Street in Edmonds, Washington. By the passage of this resolution, the City Council takes no
position regarding the vacation, but rather has initiated the petition pursuant to the requirements
of state statute and ECDC 20.70.050.
Section 2. Pursuant to the requirements of ECDC 20.70.070, the City Council
hereby sets a public hearing on the proposed street vacation. The hearing is set for 7:00 PM on

June 17, 2003, or as soon thereafter as the public may be heard. Said date is not more than sixty
days nor less than twenty days after the date of passage of the resolution.
