A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, TO INITIATE THE VACATION
OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE
OF THE 8500 BLOCK OF BOWDOIN WAY ADJACENT TO
THE CITY OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 8505
BOWDOIN WAY.
WHEREAS, the existing right-of-way was acquired to serve as a primary access point for
some landlocked property to the north, and
WHEREAS, the previously landlocked property has been developed with a separate
primary access off of Main St. and the subject right-of-way is there for emergency access only,
and
WHEREAS, the City would still need to preserve an access easement over a portion of
the property to ensure that the emergency access remained, and
WHEREAS, the existing 60 foot right-of-way is excessive for what it is actually
presently used and foreseen to be needed, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. Pursuant to ECDC 20.70.050, the vacation of the right-of-way located on the west side of
the property identified as 8505 Bowdoin Way and identified on the attached Exhibit A is hereby
initiated.
RESOLVED this 12th day of November, 2002.
