Whereas. KrZstZana ohnson was elected as Council President on January 5, 2016 to serve a one-year term.
During her tenure she presided over the business of the City Council with steadfast dedication, using her
knowledge, experience, and expertise to manage the day-to-day administration of the City Council and to
communicate with and embrace the concerns of Edmonds citizens, City staff, and other elected officials:
Whereas, during her term, Council President Johnson approached her duties diligently — comprising herself of all the
facts and ensuring that the Council as a body had all the relevant information needed to make informed
decisions. As such, she helped to see the completion of the following: setting the Agenda and overseeing
the 2016 Edmonds City Council Retreat where she emphasized the role and standardization of parliamentary
procedures in conducting Council business, leading the Council to the finalization of the City's proposed
Shoreline Master Plan, adoption of the City's 2016 Comprehensive Plan, the Waste Water Management
program improvements, passage of the 2017 City Budget, as well as, overseeing the selection and
appointment of numerous candidates to the many citizen's committee vacancies.
Whereas, while Council President, Council President Johnson was involved with many committees and commissions
where she brought the same devotion she did as an election official.
,Vow, Therefore, Be it Resoked, that Kristiana Johnson be applauded and thanked for serving as Council President.
The Council looks forward to her continued dedication and service to the citizens of Edmonds.
