Resolution 10110006.90000 WSS/kkr 08/21/01 R: 9/11 /01 gjz RESOLUTION NO.1011 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF TWO PARCELS OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 8505 BOWDOIN WAY AND APPROXIMATELY 8612 MAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING A MINIMUM PRICE WHICH SUCH BIDS ARE TO BE OFFERED, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND STAFF TO PLACE THE PROPERTIES FOR SALE ON A NEGOTIATED BASIS AND PROVIDING STAFF DIRECTION REGARDING A PROCESS. WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds owns two tracts of land, the first tract having a street address of 8505 Bowdoin Way and consisting of approximately .60 acres and the second tract having a street address of approximately 8612 Main Street and consisting of approximately 1.29 acres, and WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended that the properties are surplus to the needs of the City and should be sold, and the proceeds applied to the general fund for use in the construction of Fire Station 16 and other public works projects of the City, and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered such action at a public hearing and finds that the sale of the properties is in the best interest of the City of Edmonds, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to set a minimum price for the properties, and authorize their sale, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: {WSS487738.DOC;1/00006.900000/} - 1 - Section 1. The following described parcels of real estate shall be offered for negotiated sale by the Mayor and his designated staff: A. A tract of land located at 8505 Bowdoin Way, Edmonds, Washington, consisting of approximately 26,136 square feet and legally described as shown on Exhibit A, and incorporated by this reference as fully as if herein set forth. B. A tract of land located at approximately 8612 Main Street, Edmonds, Washington, consisting of approximately 56,192 square feet and legally described as shown on Exhibit A, and incorporated by this reference as fully as if herein set forth. Section 2. The tract of land described in Section LA above shall be offered for a minimum price of $250,000. The tract of land described in Section LB above shall be offered for a minimum price of $165,000. Section 3. The Mayor and Staff are authorized to offer such properties for sale subject to a negotiated price, reserving all necessary easements and/or rights -of -way as deemed necessary. The Mayor is authorized to execute a contract for the sale for any price above the minimum price. Final acceptance of any proposed contract of sale at less than the minimum sale price shall be at the discretion of the City Council. Section 4. The staff shall file appropriate application with the Planning Advisory Board to review the zoning of the sites. RESOLVED this 25th day of September, 2001.
