A RESOLUTION OF THE KDMONDS CITY COUNCIL THANKING GARY HAAKENSON
FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY COUNCIL AS COUNCIL PRESIDENT
WHEREAS, GARY HAAKENSON was elected by the City Council to serve as City Council President
from January, 1998, to December, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the MAYOR AND ALL COUNCILMEMBERS recognize and appreciate the exceptional
leadership COUNCIL PRESIDENT HAAKENSON brought to the Edmonds City Council
during his tenure; and
WHEREAS, COUNCIL PRESIDENT HAAKENSON executed his duties as Council President with great
style, consideration and concern for community values, and with a terrific sense of humor; and
WHEREAS, MR. HAAKENSON demonstrated his leadership abilities while serving on the Medic 7 and
SnoCom Boards and gave invaluable service as a member of the Budget Committee; and
WHEREAS, He has accomplished all of this while maintaining a united and positive relationship with his
fellow Councilmembers, business community and citizens of Edmonds; and
WHEREAS, MR. HAAKENSON has given countless hours of service during the year, consistently making
himself available for extraordinary meetings and participation on numerous temporary
committees and strategic planning teams on behalf of the Council,
ROW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that GARY HAAKENSON be commended and thanked for his efforts as
Council President while looking forward to his continued participation as a Councilmember.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED THIS STE DAY OF JANUARY, 1999.
