12/18/2001 City CouncilEDMONDS CITY COUNCIL APPROVED MINUTES December 18, 2001 The Edmonds City Council meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Pro Tem Dave Earling in the Council Chambers, 250 5th Avenue North, Edmonds. The meeting was opened with the flag salute. ELECTED OFFICIALS PRESENT Dave Earling, Mayor Pro Tem Michael Plunkett, Council President Pro Tem Jeff Wilson, Councilmember Richard Marin, Councilmember Deanna Dawson, Councilmember Lora Petso, Councilmember Dave Orvis, Councilmember ELECTED OFFICIALS ABSENT STAFF PRESENT Tom Tomberg, Fire Chief David Stern, Chief of Police Stephen Clifton, Community Services Director Peggy Hetzler, Administrative Services Director Noel Miller, Public Works Director Dave Gebert, City Engineer Jim Larson, Assistant Admin. Serv. Director Jana Spellman, Senior Executive Council Asst. Linda Hynd, Deputy City Clerk Gary Haakenson, Mayor Mayor Pro Tem Earling introduced Ian Petso, son of Councilmember Lora Petso, and invited him to sit in the Student Representative's place, along with the other councilmembers for the evening. 1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA COUNCILMEMBER ORVIS MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT PRO TEM PLUNKETT, FOR APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 2. CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS COUNCIL PRESIDENT PRO TEM PLUNKETT MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER ORVIS, FOR APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. MAYOR'S COMMENTS Mayor Pro Tem Earling thanked Councilmembers Dawson and Wilson for attending the Puget Sound Regional Council's workshop for newly elected officials. He wished everyone a happy holiday. 5. COUNCIL COMMENTS Councilmember Plunkett noted his pleasure in working with all of his colleagues and staff during the last year and he looked forward to getting back to work soon. Councilmember Wilson echoed Mr. Plunkett's comments and wished everyone a happy holiday. Councilmember Orvis wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Councilmember Dawson wished everyone a happy holiday and a happy new year. Councilmember Marin concurred with the other members' comments.
