Resolution 937pF D UN �. eplllljewfhll� C- WlaereArf, the City of Edmonds established a Sister City relationship with the City of Hekinan, Japan, in 1988 to 'deepen mutual undervtanding and strengthen the ties offijendship lx:twcen the citizens of the two countijzes by means of exchanges in the fields of education, the arls, sorts, volunteer organizations, government, business, and industry; and CWhere4-4 in July, 1998, in honor of the I Oil, Anniversary of the Edmonds /Hekinan Sister City relationship and of the 50111 Anniversary of the City of Hekinan, a delegation from Edmonds was invited to participate in Hekinan's celebration activities, and the warm, generous hospitality, of the people of Hekinan and the exchange of art and cultural traditions was an extraordinary experience; and C 'herea-4 during October. 31 -- November 5, we are extremely honored to have Mayor Take Nagashima and distinguished members, of his delegation visiting Edmonds and we. will share vaith them our .rich traditions, vibrant cultural community, and friendly citizenry.
