RESOLUTION NO. 831
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING A MEDICAL SELF -
INSURANCE PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE EDMONDS
PERSONNEL MANUAL TO INCORPORATE ADOPTION OF
THE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, after extensive study, the City of Edmonds has developed a proposal
to self - insure employee health benefits, including medical, dental and vision services; and
WHEREAS, self - insuring employee health benefits has proven to be a successful
and cost - effective method of providing these benefits in other cities; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 5.1 of the City of Edmonds Personnel Manual is amended to
provide as follows:
The healthcare benefit will be administered by the
Human Resources Department in conjunction with
the administrator for the Edmonds Medical Self -
Insurance Program and the Medical Self - Insurance
Advisory Board.
Section 2. The "Edmonds Medical Self- Insurance Program" attached hereto as
Exhibit A and incorporated by this reference as if set forth in full shall be adopted as the basic
guideline for self - insuring employee health benefits.

Section 3. The effective date of the Edmonds Medical -Self Insurance
Program adopted by this resolution shall be October 1, 1997.
