Legal Formation of the Association of Snohomish County Cities and Towns
and Ratification of their Constitution and By-laws
WHEREAS, over the years the elected officials of the cities and towns of Snohomish County have
established. a practice of meeting on a regular basis for the purpose of social interaction
and sharing of information of mutual interest and concern; and
WHE 'ASS in recent years, official responsibilities have been assigned to the organization by other
governing agencies such as the County and the Puget Sound Regional Council; and
WHEREAS, this organization has historically been informal in nature and not officially established by
the participants; and
WHEREAS, those consistently participating in the activities of this informal organization now believe
it is necessary and of mutual benefit to all cities and towns of Snohomish County to
establish this association through the formal process of incorporation, and
WHEREAS, in order for incorporation to occur, each participating city and town must, through its
own official process, approve the formal creation of this proposed association.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Mayor and the City Council of the City of
Edmonds does hereby approve this resolution, fully supports the legal formation of the
Association of Snohomish County Cities and. Towns thr ugh the incorporation process, and
ratifies the proposed Constitution and By-laws to be for said corporation.
