A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ROGER DALZELL FOR THIRTY YEARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, Roger Dalzell has been employed by the City of Edmonds since April 8, 1965, and has worked
in two City departments, beginning in Parks Maintenance, then working in the Police
Department as a Crime Prevention Officer; and
WHEREAS, Roger also volunteered as a Reserve Police Officer for twenty -three years; and
WHEREAS, Roger started the Business Watch and Neighborhood Block Watch programs, expanded the
Crime Watch program, and was selected in 1992 by the State of Washington Crime Prevention
Association as its Crime Prevention Practitioner of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Roger has provided outstanding public service to the citizens of Edmonds and to fellow
employees and has gained their respect by his professionalism, sincerity of purpose, and
commitment to duty; and
WHEREAS, A wealth of knowledge about Edmonds acquired through his thirty years of experience within
City government has made Roger an invaluable resource person to staff and citizens alike;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Roger Dalzell, Crime Prevention Officer for the City of Edmonds,
is hereby publicly commended and thanked on behalf of the citizens of Edmonds for his long
and distinguished service.
