A RESOLUTION OF THE EDMONDS CITY COUNCIL COMMENDING
LAURA M. HALL FOR HER SERVICES TO THE CITY
WHEREAS, LAURA M. HALL has admirably served on the City of Edmonds Planning Board for seven years, the Library
Board for four years, was elected and served on the Edmonds City Council for eight years and was elected in 1992
and served for four distinguished years from 1992 to 1995 as the Mayor of the City of Edmonds; and
WHEREAS, during her administration made the following significant accomplishments: Acquisition of the Anderson Marine
Property on the waterfront, acquisition of Fire Station No. 10 from Fire District No. 1, construction and dedication
of the New Public Works Facility, the Union Oil Marsh Walkway and Phase I Improvements to City Park. Other
notable events that occurred during her term were: Her leadership position on the relocation of the Ferry Terminal
to the Point Edwards site, establishment of close ties and a good working relationship with the Department of
Transportation by getting all their divisions together with the City for the fast time, signing of an agreement with
DOT and Community Transit to form an Oversight Committee for the project called "Edmonds Crossing and was
instrumental in future planning for. the City through the Waterfront Plan, Comprehensive Plan (GMA) and Cultural
Plan which were completed in 1994 and 1995. During her term there were five new areas annexed to the C
Aurora Marketplace, Gate/Eaton,. Snoline/Forshee, Sherwood Neighborhood, and Forest Glen. Toward u ►e
betterment of public safety, she is 'credited with establishing Community Oriented Policing, Bicycle and Foot
Patrols, Citizens' Academy and Officer on Campus at High School; signed a long -term Fire Service Agreement for
fire and emergency Medical services with Fire District No. 1 for the Esperance area, and purchased a new aid car in
1994.
WHEREAS, MAYOR LAURA M. HALL, has made many noteworthy contributions not only during her term as Mayor but
during her long and distinguished 23 -YEAR CAREER with the City while wearing many different hats..MAYOR
LAURA HALL has truly "Made A:Difference ".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; that °LAURA M. HALL, Mayor of the City of Edmonds, `-is hereby publicly
commended and thanked on, behalf of the citizens of Edmonds for her dedicated acid tireless service to her
community. The City Council and the Staff of the City of Edmonds wish Laura every success and happiness in all
of her future endeavors;
