THE HAINES FAMILY FOR THE DEDICATION OF PUBLIC

FOR THOSE TIDELANDS. y
WHEREAS, Herbert Foster Haines, Jr., James B. Haines and
Patricia C. Haines are the owners of certain tideland properties in
the City of Edmonds adjacent to property which their family has
owned and operated as a fishing pier and wharf for many years, and
WHEREAS, the family has offered to dedicate a tideland
lot to the City for its public use and parks inventory, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has caused the environmental
inspection of the property and finds that its acceptance will be in
the public interest offering a timely and thoughtful addition to
the City's park inventory, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council does hereby express its
gratitude to the Haines family for the dedication of public
tidelands to its parks inventory and accepts such dedication for
the benefit of the citizens of Edmonds. Public tidelands are a
unique and irreplaceable resource and the City Council expresses
its appreciation for this public spirited gesture.

Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to record
the Tidelands Deed of Dedication from the Haines family for the
Meadowdale Tideland Lot.

DEED OF DEDICATION
WHEREAS, the undersigned property owners hold title to certain
tidelands in the City of Edmonds, Snohomish County, Washington, and
WHEREAS, said owners desire to dedicate said tidelands to
public use by donating them to the City of Edmonds, Washington, and
NOW, THEREFORE, the undersigned property owners do hereby
dedicate and quit claim to the City of Edmonds, Washington, a
municipal corporation, all title and interest which they may have
in certain tidelands located in the City of Edmonds, Washington,
and legally described on the attached Exhibit A. This dedication
is made in consideration of the benefit which would accrue to the
public by City ownership, and the benefits to be derived therefrom
by the dedicators.
