RESOLUTION NO. 765
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING EARL BARNARD
WHEREAS, Earl Barnard, Fire.qiptain; was `hired by the City of Edmonds on April 1,
1968, as a firefighter for the - Edmonds' Fire Department, and is now retiring
from City; and
WHEREAS, During his twenty-five years of employment Earl has shown A positive attitude
and a love for his work and the people he worked with; and,, ,
WHEREAS, Earl was the first to receive his Associate Degree inFire Science after coming
to work as a firefighter; and
WHEREAS, Earl is respected by his fellow firefighters and has 'always 'been there for
them when needed; and
WHEREAS, Earl is known to be friendly, outgoing, and cheerful to everyone; and
WHEREAS, Earl is known for his GREAT ability to "ho, ho, ho" when appearing as Santa
at Christmas celebrations such as the Christmas Tree Li&hting, the Senior
Center Christmas function, City employee functions, and children's events;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Earl Barnarid'is,:1ereby publicly
commended and thanked on behalf of the City, theFire-Department, and the
citizens for his long, distinguished, dedicated service..
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Council extend their best
wishes to Earl and his family for happiness and success in the future. .
