A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND EDMONDS CITY COUNCIL COMMENDING PETER E. HAHN
WHEREAS, Peter Hahn was appointed the City's first Community Services Director on October 22,1984; and
WHEREAS, Peter Hahn led a team of talented and dedicated staff and consultants in the.process of planning, designing, and
constructing, a new secondary wastewater treatment - plant, by -far the' largest single construction project in the
City's .history, -and the plant was dedicated on October. 18, 1991, after.being completed on time and within
budget; and
WHEREAS, Peter Hahn negotiated the intergovernmentalagreements whereby several jurisdictions participated in the costs
of the plant, and assisted in securing grant funding; 'and ' o
WHEREAS, Peter Hahn was responsible for building a ' new Community Services '•team ,encompassing : Public Works,
Engineering, Planning, Building, Parks, and Recreation ' and, during'. his tenure. as department Director,
managed the completion of several major projects including the downtown,historic.lights, recycling, Centennial
projects and .events in 1990, the Meadowdale 'Playfields, Chase Lake' and Shell -.Creek drainage facilities,
Brackett's Landing jetty, computerized permit tracking, comprehensive stormwater management plans, a
waterfront study by the University of Washington, expansion of the,flower program, land acquisition for and
preliminary design of a new Public Works facility;.and
WHEREAS, Peter Hahn was a contributing member of the City's Management Team and assisted the Mayor in policy
development, budget preparation, goal setting and other citywide; management tasks.;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Peter Hahn, Community Services Director, is hereby publicly commended and thanked on
behalf of the citizens of Edmonds for his dedicated service in leading the Community . Services Department.
The Mayor and Council further recognize Peter Hahn's unique talents and contributions which have enhanced
the community's quality of life.
