RESOLUTION NO. 748
A Resolution of Commendation in Honor of Sergeant John R. Holleman
WHEREAS, Sergeant John R. Holleman was hired September 1, 1966, as a Second
Class Patrol Officer, promoted to First Class Patrol Officer in 1967,
promoted to Senior Patrol Officer in 1975, promoted to Sergeant in
1984; and
WHEREAS, During Sergeant Holleman's employment, the Police Department
experienced growth from a department of 24 commissioned officers to
43 commissioned officers, and the City's population grew from 23.000
to 30,000; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Holleman served the residents and businesses of Edmonds
with professionalism, dedication and diligence for 25 years, during
which time law enforcement and the challenges facing society changed
dramatically.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Sergeant John R. Holleman is hereby
publicly commended and thanked on behalf of the citizens of
Edmonds for his long and distinguished service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, City Council, and City Staff hereby
extend their best wishes to Sergeant Holleman and his wife, Aileen,
for success and happiness in all their future endeavors.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 1992.
