A RESOLUTION OF THE EDMONDS CITY COUNCIL
COMMENDING EDWARD J. HUNTLEY
WHEREAS, Edward J. Huntley was hired February 18, 1963 as a maintenance person for
the Street Department, promoted to Equipment Pool Foreman, then to
Carpenter Shop Foreman, and finally promoted to Buildings and Grounds
Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, during his employment, the City has seen extensive growth and municipal
facilities significantly increased and the supervision of the buildings
and grounds maintenance was of major importance; and
WHEREAS, Edward J. Huntley's carpentry skills have provided the City with
custom - designed furniture and cabinets, numerous unique productions, and
he often contributed his hand - carved ducks and other creations for fund
raising for employee events; and
WHEREAS, Edward J. Huntley has been civic minded and was active in working with
youth through the Juvenile Court, served as a volunteer Fire Fighter,
helped needy families, and went beyond the "call of duty" to assist with
the Christmas Tree Lighting, July 4th Parade, and other community events;
and
WHEREAS, due to his leadership and assistance, many enjoyable City employee social
functions have continued because he cared. His personal care and interest
in individuals were reflections of his strong spiritual beliefs.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Edward J. Huntley, Buildings and Grounds Supervisor
for the City of Edmonds, is hereby publicly commended and thanked on
behalf of the citizens of Edmonds for his long and distinguished service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council hereby extend their best wishes
to Ed and his wife, Helen, -for success and happiness in all their future
endeavors. r
