Resolution 6620006.06031 WSS /naa 09/30/86 662 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY , OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF CERTAIN DESIGNATED CEMETERY LOTS AT THE EDMONDS MUNICIPAL CEMETERY, PROVIDING FOR THE IMPOSITION OF A RESTRICTION ON THE DISPOSITION OF SAID LOTS TO INDIGENT CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. WHEREAS, Dorothy 0. McCall um has donated to the City of Edmonds certain cemetery lots, described in attached Exhibit A, incorporated by this reference as fully as if herein set forth; and WHEREAS, said donation is subjection to the express restriction by the City that said lots shall be held by the City and dispensed only to indigent persons residing in the City of Edmonds, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds does hereby accept the donation of said lots subject to said restriction and instruct its staff to hold and dispose of such lots according to the provisions of this resolution, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds wishes to express its appreciation to Dorothy Q. McCallum for tii-eefr her charitable and public spirited donation of said lots; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The cemetery lots described in attached Exhibit A are hereby accepted for donation by the City of Edmonds, subject to the following restriction, that said lots shall be held and disposed of only to indigent residents of the City of Edmonds at no cost, provided, however, that such persons shall be required to bear any and all costs of burial, internment and providing for appropriate gravestones or markers for said burial plots. Section 2. The City staff is hereby instructed to keep track and account for said lots, and to report any applications for dispositions to the Cemetery Board. The Cemetery Board shall, on a timetable it deems appropriate, make its report and recommendation to the City Council regarding ultimate disposition of those lots to suitable indigent residents of the City. The staff at the direction of the Cemetery Board may require reasonable financial information in a form which it shall designate in order to carry out the intent of this resolution. Disposition of said lots shall be without regard to, and no person shall discriminate in the disposition of said lots or burial of any individual on the basis of race, religion, creed, national origin or sex. PARRETT FILED WITH THE CITY_ CLERK: August 14, 1987 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL: August 18, 1987 RESOLUTION NO. 662 • - 2 - 0006.12022 WSS /na 0._3/23/87 CEMETERY CONVEYANCE The undersigned grantor(s) pursuant to Chapter 6812 do hereby gift and donate to the City of Edmonds, a municipal corporation, the perpetual use and right, for the sole purpose of human sepulcher and interment, of and in the real property situate in the County of Snohomish, State of Washington, described as follows: subject to: (1) all of the City of Edmonds rules, regulations and ordinances now existing or hereafter adopted; (2) all applicable versions of State law; and (3) the City of Edmonds perpetual right of the ingress and egress over and above the described real property for the purpose of caring for the same and for passage to and from other burial sites.
