RESOLUTION NO. 621
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO
PARTICIPATE IN THE PUGET SOUND CITIES INSURANCE
AUTHORITY TO JOINTLY SELF - INSURE ITS GENERAL
LIABILITIES
WHEREAS, the cost, availability and adequacy of insurance
coverage for cities is a major concern to the City of Edmonds,
and
WHEREAS, joining together with other cities for joint self -
insurance and /or joint purchase of insurance coverages is an
alternative to conventional insurance purchase and claim
procedure, and
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds received and reviewed an
independent consultant feasibility study performed for the City
of Edmonds in 1983 which determined that participation in the
Puget Sound Cities Insurance Authority would be advantageous to
the City of Edmonds, and an update of the study in 1985 gave the
same recommendation, and
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds has reviewed the Puget Sound
Cities Insurance Authority Interlocal Agreement and in
consideration of all of the mutual benefits, covenants, and
agreements contained therein, is desirous of becoming a member
city to the Interlocal Agreement commencing 12:01 A.M., June 1,
1985,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

1. The City of Edmonds desires to become a member of the
Puget Sound Cities Insurance Authority commencing at 12:01 A.M.,
June 1, 1985.
2. That the City Council of the City of Edmonds authorizes
the Mayor to execute the Appendix D -7 to the original Interlocal
Agreement creating the Puget Sound Cities Insurance Authority,
thereby authorizing the City of Edmonds to join said Authority.
3. In accordance with the Inerlocal Agreement creating the
Puget Sound Cities Insurance Authority, the Mayor is hereby
appointed as the City of Edmonds delegate to the Board of
Directors and the Administrative Services Director is appointed
as alternate to the Board of Directors.
