RESOLUTION NO. 609....
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
SUPPORTING LEGISLATION BEFORE THE WASHINGTON
LEGISLATURE RELATING TO PORNOGRAPHY AND MORAL
NUISANCES.
WHEREAS, the Washington State legislature has adopted
legislation codified in RCW 7.48A and 9.68 relating to the
control of pornography and other moral nuisances, and
WHEREAS, this prior legislation has been ruled
unconstitutional by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals,
WHEREAS, the legislature will consider new legislation
to address pornography and moral nuisances through a pre -filed
bill, Senate Bill 4872, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Edmonds deems such
legislation to be in the public interest, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED:
That the Edmonds City Council hereby states its support
for and urges adoption of Senate Bill 4872 or any amendment
thereof that conforms to the letter and spirit of said pre -filed
bill.
