RESOLUTION NO. 500
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, TRANSFERRING
THE AMOUNT OF $350 FROM THE COUNCIL'S
CONTINGENCY FUND NO. 119 TO THE GENERAL
FUND NO. 001, DEPARTMENT 100, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF JOINING WITH THE CITY OF
LYNNWOOD TO FUND A STUDY DESIGNED TO DE-
TERMINE THE COST OF IMPROVING A PLAY -
FIELD ADJACENT TO THE 14EADOWDALE JUNIOR
HIGH SCHOOL FOR POSSIBLE USE BY THE PUBLIC.
WHEREAS, the Edmonds School District has indicated
its intention to make a certain piece of property known as
the Meadowdale Playfield, adjacent to the Meadowdale Junior
High School, available to the Cities of Edmonds and Lynnwood
for conversion into a City park, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary, in order to obtain IAC
funding, to hire a consultant to determine the cost of im-
proving the Meadowdale Playfield, and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynnwood is willing to fund
one -half of the $700 cost of this study, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of
Edmonds to participate with the City of Lynnwood in the
funding of such a study, thereby requiring an expenditure of
$350 which would be a portion of the. cost of this study
which would be funded by the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, this expenditure could not have reasonably
been foreseen or evaluated at the time of the adoption of
the 1981 budget, now, therefore,

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The sum of $350 is hereby transferred
from the Council Contingency Fund No. 119 to the General Fund
No. 001, Department No. 100 for the purpose of funding the
City of Edmonds' share of the cost of hiring a consultant to
determine the costs of improvement necessary to convert the
Meadowdale Playfield, adjacent to the Meadowdale Junior High
School, into a public park.
Section 2. The Finance Director is hereby autho-
rized to take all necessary steps in order to effectuate the
transfer, pursuant to this resolution.
