RESOLUTION NO. 505
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, IN SUPPORT OF ELECTRIC
UTILITY RATE DISCOUNTS FOR LOW INCOME
SENIOR CITIZENS.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the low income,
senior citizens of the City of Edmonds experience substantial
difficulty meeting the demands of an inflationary economy with
incomes which are, for the most part, fixed; and
WHEREAS the City Council recognizes that the rates of
the Snohomish County Public Utility District have, of
necessity, risen to keep pace with inflation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the
best interest of the community at large that senior citizens
with low incomes be given a special discount rate by the
Snohomish County PUD, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Edmonds
generally supports giving special consideration to low income
senior citizens in the form of discounts to be applied to the
electric bills of such citizens.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to
transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Snohomish
County Public Utility District.
