RESOLUTION NO. 508
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, TRANSFERRING
THE AMOUNT OF $48,680 FROM THE COUNCIL
CONTINGENCY FUND NO. 119 TO THE GENERAL
FUND NO. 001, FIRE DEPARTMENT NO. 600 FOR
THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING A FIRE TRUCK AND
THE AMOUNT OF $300 FROM THE COUNCIL CON-
TINGENCY FUND NO. 119 TO THE GENERAL FUND
NO. 001 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING
CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS.
WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council finds that there
is a need for a new pumper fire engine to replace the 1959
fire engine for which parts are no longer available, and
WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the
public safety and general welfare will be served if the City
purchases a 1,000 gpm pumper fire engine, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in
the best interests of the public's general welfare to expend
$300.00 for the purchase of Christmas decorations for display
in public places within the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, these expenditures could not reasonably
have been foreseen at the time of passage of the 1981 Budget,
now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The sum of $48,680.00 is hereby trans-
ferred from the Council Contingency Fund No. 119 to the
General Fund No. 001, Department 600, for the purpose of
purchasing a 1,000 gpm pumper fire engine.

Section 2. The sum of $300.00 is hereby transferred
from the Council Contingency Fund No. 119 to the General Fund
No. 001 for the purchase of Christmas decorations for display
in public places within the City of Edmonds.
Section 3. The Finance Director is hereby autho-
rized to take all necessary steps in order to effectuate the
transfers, pursuant to this resolution.
RESOLVED this 10th day of November, 1981.
