A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS
AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN
OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECT TO THE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE
FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION AS PROVIDED BY THE MARINE RECREATION
LAND ACT AND AMENDING RESOLUTION #466, PASSED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL ON APRIL 22, 1980
WHEREAS, waterfront improvements are the highest priority items on the
City of Edmonds "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan "; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Marine Recreation Land Act, state
and federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in
financing the construction of outdoor recreational facilities of local public
bodies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds considers it in the
public interest to develop publicly owned lands along the waterfront and in
related areas;
WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution #466 on April 22, 1980 and
the City Council desires to amend said resolution by adding a new section 6.to
read as set forth herein;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
RESOLUTION #466, PASSED BY CITY COUNCIL ON APRIL 22, 1980 IS HEREBY
AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the mayor be authorized to make formal application
to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for
fund assistance.
2. That any fund assistance so received be used in the development
of publicly owned park land along the waterfront and related
areas,
3. That the City's share for the project will be derived from
the value of property donation, City Park Development Funds and
other sources,
4. That any area developed with financial aid through the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation will be used as
a public outdoor recreation facility and be retained in such
use in perpetuity,
5: That this resolution become part of a formal application to
the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, and
6. That adequate notification has been given and opportunity
provided for public input and =that published notices have
identified affected flood plains and /or wetlands.
